Diablo IV

Finished the main campaign back in 2023 and then I putted it on shelf without doing any side questing or anything else because I was burnout with how many games I played at that time. Until 2025, when they announced the vassel of hatred DLC then I decided to finally focus on D4 and do everything the game has to offer preparing me for the DLC, and now after I got 100% achievements on the base game + DLC, I can confidently say that this is my 2nd favorite entry in this franchise after Diablo 2.

It was my first experience with this franchise. Good level design, good story, good variety of builds for all the classes and play styles, and the dark fantasy tone is really good, plus it’s dark fantasy based on religion ! That is the cherry on top! But the endless farming for gear and the lack of endgame activity’s makes it a bit boring after the campaign Plus you need to make a new character every season to experience the new content and start the cycle all over again A bit disappointing

Upon release, the game seemed like everything I wanted it to be. Solid gameplay, fantastic visuals, good story, and a solid game for co-op or solo play. But because of constant changes, mostly nerfing builds, it got very tiring having to change the way I play in order to adapt to all the patches that were releasing. So around season one, I dropped the game. Now, after two huge expansions/dlc and fourteen seasons, I decided to play it again. This time, it's everything I originally loved about the game, with the addition of having a more optimized and balanced experience. It's a blast! I logged over five hundred hours, and got the Platinum Trophy for the game. The addition of new classes, storylines, endgame content, and the seasonal rotation has me wanting to play more. I think the game is a solid experience for both new and returning gamers. I would love to rate it higher, but the launch was a little rough for me. My only other big problem with the game, is that although I do enjoy the build variety, the balancing isn't perfect yet. Many classes, it's obvious which build is best. Especially with how seasons buff certain armor, skills, and abilities. Showing up to a World Boss or a Helltide and seeing multiple people with the same exact build for meta farming is a bit boring. Overall, if you ignore build guides or don't care about everyone using the same strats, the game is a super fun ARPG. Worth coming back to.
