A modern reimagining of one of the most iconic games of all time, Final Fantasy VII Remake harnesses the very latest technology to recreate and expand Square Enix's legendary RPG adventure for the current generation. (6)I’m a huge fan of jrpgs and genuinely tried to like this so much. I played a good chuck of the og game and had way more fun with it. Combat system did nothing for me and the whole game is so padded out that I just wanted it to end 10 hours before the finally. One day I want to give it another go but FFVII Rebirth was even worse imo.

Cloud, Tifa, Barret, and Aerith return in a beautifully reimagined Midgar. Spectacular combat and cinematic storytelling make it feel enormous.

Took one of the most iconic games of all time and sucked all the juice and spirit out of it to turn it into a AAA/Ubisoft "mash square over and over again" and QuickTime events type game. Really could not be less for me. I feel like everyone was psyop'ed by how "good" it looks. To me it's like an Alex Ross painting: It's technically "good" and realistic looking, but it has no artistic swag. Who the fuck wants that? not me. I'll take a game that does something unique and funky visually any day of the week. This game will age like milk imo, in 20 years they'll be having to remake it again.

One of my favorite games! Best combat system ever created. The cast of characters are absolutely amazing, and watching them grow is such a wonderful experience. Epic battles, breathtaking music, gorgeous visuals, and brilliant storytelling make this game the complete package for me. Even though I do consider it a masterpiece, I do have two flaws to throw out there. Anime VO grunts ARE NOT needed when the characters show so much emotion with their faces. It's a little annoying, especially early on. The pacing is also a little rough at times, especially when trying to be a completionist.
